'77 318 heater hose routing

    My 77 D100 has had the heater bypassed due to a rusted out valve, the valve and parts of the heater hoses are still in place, but I need to which hose the heater control valve gets spliced into (water pump or manifold) and then which side in and out of the heater core.

    really should not make a difference. either way water will be pumped through the heater core.
