wife started the truck yesterday morning and screen stayed black, no radio nothing, checked all fuses including the one by the battery, called dealer and they said there is a radio performance enhancement update of some kind available for mine so there hoping that's the issue, it goes in next Friday, any other ideas on what might be the issue?

If it's not displaying, I doubt a "radio performance enhancement update", which sounds like just a simple update, is going to fix it. But here's to hoping for ya! If not, I'm sure they can swap you a radio pretty quickly and have you back up and running.

ya the idea behind my post besides hopefully finding something I could try to fix it was in case other people have the same issue they can compare to mine, once I get it fixed of course, I searched and came up with nothing except for one where it was just a blown fused in line from the battery

My 8.4 has done it twice. Both times I restarted the truck and it started working again. Both times it also rebooted, which tells me it's likely a software not hardware issue.

well got it working, after more reading on this great site, I found out by holding the mute and tune button at the same time for 5 seconds with acc on or truck running it will reboot the system, now I imagine if this doesn't work you have a much more serious problem on your hands

Same issue; start my truck (2016 with 25,000) and it is dead to the world. Drive a while, sometimes it comes back on. Sometimes I need to turn the truck off wait a minute then restart and it will come back on. Dealer tells me sorry, can't replicate the problem, so come back when it happens more often. I took a video of the problem and they still want to make it happen in their shop before they can address it. Any Ideas??

Hi Joel Langlois,

Sorry to hear about this! You can enter your VIN here to check for any software updates for your Uconnect system: https://www.driveuconnect.com/support/software-update.html. If you decide to revisit a certified dealership for further diagnosis please send us a PM with your VIN and let me know so I can offer further assistance if needed!
