Hi guys
I recently destroyed half of my 8 speed gear. My truck is at the workshop and am wondering if i can replace it with manual trans.

I understand it’s a major build. But it is doable ?
I think manual trans will be great for off road use.

My truck is a 2013 5.7 petrol engine with 8 speed auto (for now)

Please share your thoughts

It’s 100% doable, if you have the time and money.

The HDs came with a stick so all the parts are available. Just be a matter of getting it to mate up to the hemi.

The G56 only comes behind the oil burner.

Right now, the G56 is only available with the diesel, but that hasn’t always been the case. The 3rd Gen trucks could come with a HEMI and the G56.

Unless someone makes a kit for a tremec or something else, the G56 is probably the best bet. It’s already designed to fit the vehicle.

Keep us updated.

I forgot about this post for a while..

Well after seeking a new transmission. Manual ones are insanely expensive for my taste. So a new 8 speed was installed.

Here’s the new bits

- got a transmission coolant. Added some custom “plumbing”. No water from radiator will run down to cool the gear anymore (it run an empty circuit out and back again.

-transmission oil will run out to the front of the truck to breath a cool fresh air and goes back in (just like blood :p)

- goal achieved (separate oil and water coolant)

And threw in a new thermostat in the radiator
