I am finally getting around to rebuilding my first truck. After years of sitting I have finally grabbed my LMC catalog and have prepared to open the wallet. My only real area of concern is the top of the cab above the windshield. My grandfather had a visor installed on the truck some 20 ago, about 10 years ago on my way home from work, the visor ripped from the cab and found a new home on the freeway shoulder. The rust since that time has chewed through the outer skin. Does anyone know of an idea other than junk yard to find another outer shell? Maybe an idea of repair? Also the chrome gutter is rusted through as well. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You might have to make up a patch panel or salvage one from another truck.

AutoMetalDirect would also be a place to check and see if they offer panels for this generation truck. I think they make mostly repop pieces for muscle cars of the 60's and 70's but it might be worth a look.

    Good luck!
