Hi everyone! First time post here

I have an 87 d150 318 with a-904 transmission. My problem is that when I shif into drive it's a bang/hard shift and jump. U joints good, rear end just got rebuilt and is good. Entire truck is stock. All other shifting is smooth. Problem only happens when I shift into drive weather it be from park or from reverse. Thank you in advance for any help!!

have you check the fluid level in the transmission with the engine running and the truck in neutral?

The transmission was just services for 100k maintenance but I went ahead and checked anyway. Fluid is a nice pink and at the proper level
