So got this 90 dodge d150 for $300 and drove it home. Guy said trans was going out. Well after having it at the house, just moving around the yard and Driveway, it now barely moves unless you've got about 3/4 pedal down or more. It has the OD button on the dash but guy said he put a 3 speed in it before. So I climb under to look at it and WOW pics can only describe! LOL. But, here's my question what's the trans thats supposed to be in it? A 518A? I'm still kind of knew to the Mopar scene. Engine wise I'm in like flint, but trans wise I'm kind of lost. So all help is appreciated.

Yes that is all tread and a damn hose clamp "holding" the tailshaft in place LMFAO!!!!

from the pictures you posted it would be impossible to id the transmission but from the looks of it it is probably not a 518A like it should have. i would guess it is a 727
