A couple of years ago, I took my 99 1500 to a shop and told them to have a look at the A/C. Back story, I bought this 1999 1500 back in 2013, Buy Here/Pay Here, so it didn't have a working A/C.
Anyway, I had this shop take a look to see what the issue was, but I figured that it was the compressor. So after they filled it up and 1 hour later, I was told that it was the compressor and that it was stuck on the defroster vent selection. Which was strange, because the night before, actually ever since I had the truck, it worked fine switching from vent to defroster. Was told the issue was behind the dash.
So here is my question: Besides changing the selector switch, in case that is the issue, how much of a PITA is it going to be to remove the dash and what am I looking for in order to fix the issue?
