Hi all. Trying to understand why this is happening.
Auto climate control is set to off.
Vents set to floor and dash, defrost is off.
Auto wipers set to off.
AC is turned off, no light on the button.
Truck is out of warranty.
The compressor will cycle on and off by itself. I’ll turn the AC on then off but no effect. Outside temp was 60 yesterday and I could smell it and realized the blowing air got a little cooler. Had the temp on the truck set to 75 but still blowing cooler than it should have been.
It did this in the summer too, only much more frequently. Asked ram service department but they had no clue and wanted me to pay for diagnostic.
Does anyone have any idea what this is? Thanks!

I would try an independent shop. It might be that the refrigerant pressure is too high, or too low.

It will randomly cycle to help keep the interior of the truck dry. It's normal so don't worry about it. If I remember right there is something in the owners manual about it also.
