Noticed this morning that my new to me 14 2500 doesn't have front tow hooks. Looking for aftermarket options. Don't want factory hooks since A) they are ridiculously expensive and B) I hated the tow hooks on my 06 and it doesn't look like the design has changed at all. I've found these

And a 2 inch receiver that mounts to the tow hook spot

anyone know of any other good options?

I purchased the first set, they are built well but coating on them was crap on the set I received and ended up coating them again after getting no help from seller.

Just FYI

Isn't there something about how our tow hooks are mounted that if u actually use them it bends the bumper? Mine didn't have tow hooks either. I just mounted led pod lights in the space.

The tow hooks aren't really tied into the frame very well, only use them if you're really desperate and plan on realigning the bumper afterwards.

The bracket for mounting the tow hooks is also used to mount the front bumper. It’s not a beefy bracket and I believe it’s only rated for up to 5k lbs. if you pull anything higher than that I would use the rear tow hitch.

I want to find the tow hooks that come on the 4500s 5500s. They are the large horse shoe type ones (I can't remember the actual name for the design). Im not sure if they have the same bumper or if they could fit on the 2500s and 3500s. We have a 2017 Ram 5500 6.7 4x4 flatbed that I am waiting to check the measurements and see if they are the same as our trucks. I believe they have different mounting designs though.

I like the class 3 hitch mount one. It would be useful in moving my travel trailer into its storage spot. It offsets so that you can see down the side of the trailer from the drivers seat.

I'd get one for the passenger side only, then use the d-ring one for the drivers side lol. Form follows function.

Regarding factory tow hooks, shouldn't they be rated up to the GVWR for the HD? Minimum 9k lbs and up...

Those sure look nice, but thy don’t look very functional. I found the factory tow hooks on my 06 to be practically useless. They sat too far back in the bumper and you couldn’t get a tow strap through them. These look like they would have the same problem

I realize this is old but you can get a front reciever hitch for 10.00 more and then at least you are pulling from the middle utilizing both mounts

Kicking that idea around as well. Also considering an aftermarket steel plate bumper with D-rings.
