I put 2" rear drop springs on my truck. A local shop is now telling me I need a front end alignment after lowering the rear.

Doesn't make sense to me.

Anyone? True or not?

It is because by dropping the rear you further change the rake on your truck same if you raise the front or rear you technically need an alignment

Does lowering the rear really change the front enough to where it needs a new alignment? Lowered the rear 3,000+ miles ago and haven't noticed any tire wear and it drives the same as before I lowered it.

Well. My truck drove pretty straight but decided to drop it off this morning for an alignment since everyone said it's needed once you lower the rear. Needless to say, the front was all out of wack!

Did that when I did the springs a few months ago. Thanks for the tip though!

What is all involved with just a 2" rear drop? I'm wanting to do one on my 16 1500 4x4 but honestly I've never lifted or lowered any vehicle I've ever had. I appreciate any information, thank you

Just swapped the rear springs and got a front end alignment. Only took about an hour with basic tools to swap rear springs.

What company did you get the rear springs from?

What year is your truck? I looked at their stuff and didn't find anything for a 2016 4x4. I must have over looked it maybe. Never done this stuf before.

They don't list anything for a 4wd but the rear springs are the same and work great. If you get their 2" rear drop springs it's about a 2-2.5" drop on the rear depending on cab size on the 4wd.

Is there anyone who by chance sells 1" drop coil springs? I want to lower the rear but I also have a 7k camper I pull and with my weight distribution hitch I still have about 1" rake hooked up.

I cut a coil off my stock rear springs (lowered about an 1") and noticed a few months later that the front tires where scuffing on the outside and had to have it realigned. Don't know if that had anything to do with it but it wasn't doing it before.

Yes, lowering the rear changes the front alignment
