It will soon be time for me to begin investing in new wheels and tires for my truck after the lift and I honestly don't have a clue what I want. I don't do much off road, only dirt and occasional mud when I go home so I don't need the most aggressive AT tires. I'm looking for something that will last a little longer on the road but still look nice on a 7" lift and as far as wheels go I'm not sure what size to go with all I know is that I want something black and simple, not a ton of wiry spokes and no rock stars. If anyone has any preferences or opinions they'd like to share that'd be great!

I should probably also state that I am looking for something preferably smaller than 20's, 17's maybe?

17x9 -12mm fuel formula. Has spokes, but its classy looking. Nitto G2 or Cooper discoverer at3 both rated at 50k/55k mile warranty respectively.

Both come in 35/12.50r17

With this I would say something like these...

I'm not fond of chrome, but AF wheels are starting to grow on me, I just can't fathom spending 7K on wheels alone.

I know you want smaller than 20 and I don't blame you; I couldn't wait to get rid of mine. What color are you looking for, black, chrome, polished? With the color of your truck I would say find a set nobody has around you that fits your taste and 2 tone it black and color keyed to your truck - that'd look badass.

That is the idea I was originally going to go with when I was painting my current wheels but I gave up because I ran out of motivation and time. That two tone black and orange is exactly what I want though...I'll either have to find a set of rims pre painted or get them painted after. Also, those tires look great, I'll look into them.

As far as spokes go, I'm a fan of 5 spokes, a little thicker like the stock ones I have or the 2012 Sport rims, I just want to get away from 20's...for price and weight.

I've always liked the Nittos but price makes me hesitate, it isn't that I can't afford them, I'm just cheap and it takes a little bit to build up to buying, but they are on my idea list.

I should also probably state I like the look of them sticking out of the fender by about an inch or so. Not sticking out about a foot and looking silly, just a little bit of offset.

Nittos are expensive but they are awesome tires. I have the trail grapplers and I have 0 complaints. I'm very happy with them. They do great in mud/loose stuff, and they wear really good They're also not very loud at all even at 80+ mph. They are expensive but I'll definitely buy them again.

Yea I agree with Justin, the nittos are worth the money and I was going to get them again but my buddy got me a real good deal on toyo open country m/t's so I'll be rolling on those this week. His dealership does a buy 3 get 1 free and they don't have the nittos in stock and I've read really good reviews on them like the nittos so I think either is a good choice.

0 offset on a 17x9 will move your rim .5" from your spindle, and 1.5" out from a stock 17x8 location. I think lol. Not sure how that compares to a stock 20" rim.

So I think I found some wheels that I want, I decided on 17 inch rims.

https://www.customwheeloffset.com/buy-wheel-offset/M197985005/mamba-m19-17x9-0-custom-wheels?year=2007&make=Dodge&model=Ram+1500&bolt_patterns=5x5.5%2C5x139.7&suspension=Suspension+Lift+7%22&trimming=Minor+Plastic+Trimming

The lift kit states that it requires 5.5" of backspacing or less and these ones are 5 so I'm guessing it's good there. The offset though is what I'm really needing help with. I would like it to stick out around an inch so what offset would that be? I'm lost

Also will most likely be wrapping them in Toyo Open Country AT II's. I'm not sure whether I will go with 33's or 35's, I don't like the look of fat sidewall so I'll have to keep digging until I can find images that satisfy my indecision.

17x9 -12offset will stick out 2" farther (i think) than stock 17x8 rims. .5" from wheel width, and 1.5" from offset. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but stock 17" rims have +25 offset, so going to -12 is a 1.5" difference. So going with a 0 offset will be .5" less past the wheel than -12 offset rims.

Those Mamba rims are pretty sweet.

I came across those wheels while searching for rims similar to the Rebel wheels. The tires are what comes on the Rebels and I liked the look and reviews. Thanks for the info, that makes more sense than what I have been reading. I'll be trying for a -12 offset on the 17x9s then, and I'm probably going to end up with 35's so the tires aren't too big or small. Thanks again for the info!

My 18x9 wheels with 5" backspacing and +1 offset and 35x12.5 toyos stick out about 2" cause they're flush with my flares and they have 2" coverage.
