Been working on it for a while but I just put the motor and Trans in yesterday. 1990 5.9 12 valve Cummins with a 727 trans into a 2007 ram 1500 quad cab half ton. Royal bitch to get it mounted, took 10 hours but motor and Trans are bolted.

So am I technically a 1st Gen guy now? Lol

Not yet but it will. Motor and Trans were running when I pulled it from the d250. I still have little things to do before it'll run and drive.

Not sure if you could call it a first gen but you can definitely call it badass.

cool swap but should have used something better than a 727 transmission since you went through all that work. i don't know how well the 727 will work with the gears that would be stock in your truck.

The 727 won't be in there long. Definitely not looking forward to a 3 speed Trans without overdrive. I'm on the lookout for a later model Trans that I can rebuild. All I would need is the adapter plate, starter, and standalone controller and I can make it work.

it just seem like a waste of time if you are throwing it in there only to yank it out at a later date.

i don't think you would need an adapter plate, different starter or stand alone controller for an overdrive transmission unless your swapping in something other than a 47RH.
