I sort of self-gifted as the Mrs. will not purchase guns for me. I have to do it all by myself. :naughty:

So my new Ruger MK IV Target .22 LR semi-auto pistol made its way to my favorite LGS and I picked it up this afternoon.

Excellent choice! I traded my S&W in two years ago due to jamming issues on a Mark III Target w/bull barrel.

The darn thing eats anything and it's accurate to a fault. I shoot in Florida as a guest at the local gun club in February. The last time I shot last year, I had the best score in the league, but it didn't count as I was a guest and there some excellent shooters in the club.

I've now used up ammo the S&W would have choked on.

Let us know what you think as you get familiar with it.

Best dang .22 I've ever shot.

I owned a MK II Target for years. Always regretted selling it on so I finally bought another one. I love these MK model Rugers except for one thing...tear down and re-assembly.

When Ruger introduced the MK IV I was instantly sold on the new design that basically breaks down like an AR. It's amazingly easy to clean and lube.

I'm already shopping for accessories, have order a couple more magazines for it, got some hi-vis sights on order and a holster. The ShopRuger.com and TandemKross websites are killin' me... LOL

I agree, that's the downside of the earlier Rugers. I haven't kept up on the newer models, now I've got to go look at them.

Crap, now I'll probably be enticed to upgrade.
