That switch is mounted by your knee on. The console. By that useless magazine holder slot on the side, there's a removable panel that is easy to mount the switch to.

Thats going to be a nice setup! Where you have your lock switch is where I wanted to put my permanent switch but you can't drill through that part of the 4wd switch because its a module inside. I have a feeling you're going to have 0 problems plowing with your truck.

I also see you're a fellow masshole:)

Brandon, if you're out there, I'd like to buy one of your wiring harnesses. What a great idea. I sent a PM.

Hey everyone on this thread. I have some Of these harnesses for sale. If interested comment on here or dm me. There's a no drill stick on switch or a permenant mount switch option. I build both as they're requested. Install video shows how easy it is to install yourself. Just need a drill buit and some electrical tape. Thanks

Sent you a pm about buying a switch! Nice work sir!

72 pages. I'm a little late to the party.

Like a lot of you guys, I wasn't totally satisfied with the 44-44, in factory carnation.

I received Brandon's ingenious transfer case Lock Switch and wiring harness yesterday. I had watched the YouTube vid, and read the instructions prior to this evening. If you can put in a Petal Commander, and who can't? You'll have no problem with Brandon's Switch. I simply tucked the switch cable under the console trim. I don't think I'll do a "perminant" install. The switch itself is laying in the little tray just in front of the big console bin. I like the idea of being able to pull the whole switch/wiring harness out in about a minute and a half, if need be.

For what you get, plus what it does, I think the asking price is quite reasonable. I haven't left it on for more than a couple of minutes. I've only switched it on in 4 Low. No codes. No warning lights. No weirdness, period. I tested the truck in a big gravel parking lot. The transfer case is definitely locked when the blue light (on the switch) is on.

I like it. 2 thumbs up.

Awesome! Happy it was easy for you to install and everything went well. Thanks for the good reviews. [emoji846] Anyone use this switch for some fun yet?? I'd love to see some pics of you guys using these things. Feel free to make YouTube videos of the switch and it in action.

Well no pictures, but I have used the switch that I got from Brandon several times.
Yesterday while doing some fence work on a steep hill the ground is wet and the grass was also,
the truck walked right up with no tire slip or spin, just like it should.
Coming back down just out of curiosity I tried to stop and did then went into reverse.
Prior to installing this switch any attempt to backup a slope on any surface that was not perfect
would result in tire spin untill the clutches came in. With this switch engaged the truck backed up
nice and smoothly, I just eased into the throttle gently and the truck backed up with no wheel slip
no fuss no muss just like it always should have.
The field road getting into where we were working had some mud in places and I went back and forth
with the switch a few times there was definitly a difference in how the truck behaved with the switch
engaged and not, the 4wd was much more positive engaged then not.
Brandon thanks for your design and work, this is the best modification I have done to my truck,
the 4wd works now.
I'm going to post this in the other thread also.
Lou

Also for those of you who are unsure about buying from the forum there is now an ebay listing for the harness. Just search 44-44 transfercase lock switch it should come up.
Thanks

How cool is this !

As the OP, I was concerned that the Borg Warner 44-44 in my (then) new Ram was junk. Now I discover that it's not only NOT junk, but an entire aftermarket business has evolved within my thread.

"Merica Baby" !

I've only had to use mine in 4 wheel drive a few dozen times in over 2 years and it's worked fine, and it's stock. We have pretty mild winters in Southern Illinois so I'll probably just leave mine stock. I don't play, but I do have a cabin in the woods and pull a small trailer from time to time with mowers, 4 wheelers, etc.

Thumbs up Brandon for your obvious genius !
