My Express came through with the 3.92s as an added option factory build. With the 8spd trans, 8th gear is overdrive. And I can drive around a lot in Eco mode.

I think that is one heck of a deal for the 3.92. Was at Dealer last Wednesday we are still kicking back and forth on trade to me and what he wants for the 19. The elocker kicks out after 30 mph then you just have the normal 4wd. The LSD if you order it works at all time but rear is not "Locked" in. So I will order E-locker so when I pull in Snow, wet Grass or gravel I will stay locked in for no "Slip" under a heavy pull. If never pulled much weight often I would do the LSD.

This is how I under stand the difference between E-locker and LSD as they explained to me. I also got to checked out the power side steps on a red Laramie while I was there and they are awesome! Much lower to get in than my current side steps and wider!

the 392 depending on how one drives has eco mode on quite often and on hills pulling weight it does not hunt for lower gear much at all some times never depending on incline.

Exactly. The motor doesn’t have to work much at all, and tools along unstressed in the hwy and around town. Eco comes on more.

When I started this posting it seemed every vehicle I drove had 3.21 gears. Which mated with that 8 speed was more then fine for my needs. But since I never owned nor test drive one to compare, I opted to grab one as follows to be safe lol.99c8b6003ae4dd855a04e2ef78997ecf.jpg

Very nice call on the E-Locker. Best rear diff you could get.

I really thought about the 3.92s, but I highly doubt I'll need the extra 3k or more towing capacity it offers.
At worst, I'll just bite the bullet with install costs in the future, as I found a truck on the lot with the options I liked with a good deal on the selling price and the trade in.

It’ll be about $1200 an axle for that later down the road. $2400 vs $95.

Make a good choice. [emoji106]

Ok just another update I do have the 3.92 gears and you folks were right I did not notice a difference between that and the truck with 3.21. Although I can say according to my dash I’m getting 14.5 miles around town lol.

Sometimes, depending on driving style, the bigger gears are better in the city because you don't need to use as much gas to get the truck moving. Allows the torque to push it up through the revs. I wish I had gotten the 3.92's but it's not worth spending $1k on after the fact.

I feel that with 3.21 gears and the Pedal Commander you’ll get out of it exactly what’s needed. :)

I had PC with 3.92s.
Sport + was not happening lol

Spin city.

When I was Loosely considering a 2019, I could not find 392 gears anywhere. test drove the 321 gears, and I refuse to own one of those.

^^^^^ I'm counting on the e-torque being my pedal commander. ;) I also went with the stock gears.

I ordered my 19 Laramie with the 3.92,E-locker and the E-torque. I hope the E-Torque was worth the extra 1200 bucks or what ever ,I know the 3.92 and elocker all for about 400 bucks was well worth it.

I tow a pontoon boat a couple times a year at most so 3.92 gears aren't necessary but I'm looking at 2 trucks. Both the same level 2 package but one comes with 3.92, trailer brakes and a couple extras and the other has 3.21 and a premium lighting package. Led head lights and tail lights and a couple others.
Now, I need those LED's about like a need the extra towing but the price difference is around $200 so practicality says I should go with the tow package.
Appearance wise the only difference is black tow mirrors vs painted red mirrors.

Tow package, brother. You can change lights in your sleep. You will pay big $$ to get bigger gears if you need them later!
