Automatic Door Locks Will Unlock, but Won't Lock

2013 Ram 2500 Laramie
Remote Key Enter
Keyless Enter-N-Go
Push button start

Issue:
Automatic door locks will all unlock, but only the driver door and the tailgate will lock.
I press unlock on either the key fob, the exterior keyless enter-n-go (driver and passenger), or on the interior switches (driver & passenger) and all doors (driver, passenger, two rear, and tailgate) will all unlock. Peachy.
I press lock on either the key fob, the exterior keyless enter-n-go (driver and passenger), or on the interior switches (driver and passenger) and only the driver and tailgate will lock. Grrrrr.

At first, it was intermittent. Maybe the passenger doors would lock, maybe they wouldn't. Then it went away for a little while. Then it came back it is constant, the three passenger doors won't lock.

I didn't touch any settings, but I went through the UConnect menus to see if somehow a setting did get changed. I haven't found one.

The closest thing I found on the forums was this:

But that didn't do anything for me.

Any ideas?

If it was just 1 door, I'd say an actuator problem. Couple that with the fact that they will unlock, I'm thinking not an actuator problem.

The tailgate has a dedicated wiring path from the BCM for the lock and unlock. For the doors, the path for the lock come off the BCM and hit the drivers door first. After that, it daisy chains for the other doors.

Since the drivers door will lock repeatedly, then you have a break on the daisy chain for the lock circuit going to the other doors.

I dropped my truck off at the dealership last week. They replaced a door latch in the driver side passenger door. The doors locked a few times, but then stopped again. Truck is back in the shop today. Will report back when fixed for sure.

This seems to be common some reason. Mine failed a couple weeks ago I am replacing the actuator. By it I mean the drivers side rear seems to be common one that stops working.

I'm not sure. Below is my first invoice which did NOT fix the problem:

"Right front and both rear doors wont lock (ELECTRICAL CONCERN) VERIFIED CUSTOMER CONCERN. VERIFIED INTEGRITY OF CONNECTORS I600, I750, I700 BY WIGGLE TESTING AND MONITORING DOOR AJAR NOFICATIONS IN EVIC FOR CIRCUITSS P910, G76, AND G77. DISCONNECTED I750 AT RIGHT REAR DOOR. TESTED PIN 2 CIRCUIT P292 FOR POWER WHEN LOCK/UNLOCK ACTUATED; 12.3V PRESENT. REMOVED RIGHT REAR DOOR TRIM PANEL AND DISCONENCTED RIGHT REAR DOOR LATCH CONNECTOR. TESTED PIN 1 CIRCUIT 292 FOR POWER DURING LOCK/UNLOCK ACTUATION; 12.3V PRESENT. UPON TESTING, FOUND RIGHT FRONT LOCK AND LEFT REAR LOCK STARTED WORKING WHEN COMMANDED. CONDITION PRESENT INDICATED INTERNAL SHORT IN RIGHT REAR DOOR LATCH. REMOVED RIGHT REAR WINDOW AND CARRIER PLATE. REPLACED RIGHT REAR DOOR LATCH. PARTIALLY REASSEMBLED. TESTED LOCK/UNLOCK FUNCTIONS; ALL DOORS RESPONDING TO COMMANDS. REASSEMBLED VEHICLE. REPAIR VERIFIED."

I tested it at the dealership before I left, all doors locked. Doors locked 5 more times after I left, but the 6th time didn't. Couldn't get them to lock again. It's back at the dealer now.

One thing that I noticed is that when the ambient temperature was low, it was intermittent on when the doors would lock. I thought maybe a wire is cut/crimped because when the temp is low, humidity is lower, maybe it's easier for the current to pass through a damaged wire. But I honestly have no idea what I'm talking about.

I'll post the results when I get 'em.

I'm dropping mine off at the dealer today, and it started working again, but then I tried the passenger side, and it unlocked as soon as I touched the chrome on the handle. Now it's not working again.

I dont have anything to add, but I have a 2014 Ram 2500 crew cab. The problem is, when I am in the drivers seat, if I push the door lock button....the doors do not lock. If I am in the passenger seat and push the door lock button...the doors lock. From the drivers seat, the only way to lock the doors is to put the truck in drive, and drive. Is this normal? Ideas on a fix?

Does it also lock from the key fob?

If so, sounds like you've probably got a problem with just the button mechanism on your driver door. But I am by no means any sort of expert.

My locks stopped working again. The left rear door latch is clearly not the root cause if it has now been replaced twice and doesn't solve the problem. Guess I am headed back to the shop on Tuesday. Ugh. This'll be the 4th time going to the shop for the same issue.
