Can someone tell me what the in-line fuse on the battery cable is for? The Ram I bought wrecked had the battery cables cut, so I bought a adapter from the parts store to hook up to the battery. Everything works fine without it, just wondering g if I need it. Thanks

Anyone know what the fuses are for? I eliminated mine, just curious if I needed them or not? Thanks

The Alternator feeds through the fuse on the batts.

If it runs and stays charged then the inline fuses are probably for accessories.

They are for shorts back to the battery so electrical components are not damaged in an accident or current spike from the alternator. you don't need them...... until you actually need them.

I havent needed mine for several years now LOL!
Yeah I actually went to the scrap yard to get a replacement, $50 dude changed my alternator without unplugging battery.. I posted in dodge Facebook pages, told me it's for electric steering and it's something you want to protect. Check out the Facebook groups, lots of members and quick replies
