The time has come to replace my aging Infinity Reference subs. They have been great but one of them has a damaged surround and running only 1 just isn't cutting it. The boxes are homemade fiberglass/mdf that are about .75 cu/ft each. Amp is a Sub amp - JBL GTO-751EZ that I plan to run at 2 ohms.

I'd like to find something under $200 (since I'm buying 2 of them) Any recommendations?

are you looking at 200 per sub or 200 total? if total i would take serious consideration of the jl w0 line. they only need like 150 watts each so you will be able to turn your amp down. I have had the same jl sub since 2002 and it still plays like it did new since i give it the required power.

Check out DC Audio lvl 2's, FI Audio Alpha's, or RE Audio's. The RE's being the lowest of those quality, the other 2 I mentioned are supposed to have good SQL (dumb term, but you get the point). They will also work in small enclosure's for underseat applications.

I'm running an idq10.v4 in 1.25 cu ft glassed sealed box with 550 watts. Very happy with it. Cone area is closer to an 11 inch sub. I miss some of the lowest freqs that my sundown sa10 ported did, but it still gets down.

Thanks guys for all the responses!

I'd like to stay around $200 each $400 total.

I should add that when the Infinity failed I switched to a single JL 12TW1-2 which has similar power handling as the w0's in a similar mdf/fiberglass box. It sounds awesome but just isn't loud enough. This Cummins likes to make some noise. :)

Give Skar Audio a look. I have a 10” Sub from there. I think I paid $80 for it. Great quality for the price. Mine was 400W RMS 800W Max I think

The IDQ10 & IDQ12 are amazing subs and I'd tear out an eye for ID to bring back the IDQ15. Very musical subs that can do almost anything...they're just so well rounded in a variety of enclosures, musical tastes, power levels, and frequency windows. They fail at nothing and can be transparent, or totally up in your grill getting rowdy.

Do you remember which series you have? From what I can tell on thier website everything but the shallow mount requires 1cu/ft sealed for a 10.

Between the price and the latest reviews the S-series are on my short list now.

Mines hooked up to a Rockford fosgate R500X1D amp. Just one speaker in my truck. It gets loud!
