More info, please.

Never heard of this Mod.
I read an instructional on how to 'properly' adjust your mirrors to eliminate blind spots. To my surprise, it worked. It's a little different than what feels natural, but I'm glad I didn't go buy different mirrors or a convex mini mirror.

Unfortunately I can't find/remember the exact site. Essentially you sit in a normal driving position (not tilting or leaning your head- just turning your head left and right) and move your mirrors until your door handle is in the middle of the mirror vertically, and move the mirror left/right until you barely see the back bumper.

True but there are A LOT of people out there willing to pay just to have someone else do it...
and a lot of people who can't do it (aptitude or tools), or don't want to risk screwing up either the assist or the bed: let the shop be responsible for it being done right.

If you think the weight of the fourth gen tailgate is bad, the tailgate on my 04 I had was like a elephant compared to this one

Thank you. I was thinking myself my '16 Ram's is a lot lighter than my old '93 Ford's.

I am still getting used to mine. Always hold the tailgate like half way down and then I'm like **** what did I buy this thing for if I'm not going to use it and let it go lol
LOL...I can see me doing that. And then when I get used to it, drop the hell out of a friend's tailgate at some point...

TRUTH ^^^ It's pretty heavy...
Actually for my short bed the mat weighs about 130 lbs after trimming. The 5x7 mat weighed 150 lbs before I fixed it. I suppose that is an important consideration for some. As for my 3500 CTD, it just doesn't sweat it... and it makes a fantastic base for my Arctic Fox 865 TC.

I got these rubber mats free from work. About 1/16" thick, maybe 1/2 lb each. 3 pretty much covers the bed. I can throw them in roll them up and take them out, lay over the tailgate for protection, etc. Keeps stuff from sliding too. Wish I had an unlimited supply...I bet I could make a killing selling these.KIMG0364.JPG

How about the .75 Cent Mod?! Well it was .75 Cents back in the day, it's more like $1.25 to $2.00 mod anymore but still cheap!

Has anyone mentioned painting your chrome exhaust tips black? If you search for it there are a couple threads about it. I picked up some high heat primer, high heat semi gloss black and some sand paper a little while back but haven't had a chance to do it yet...

I dipped my chrome grill trim and silver radio antenna recently. I'm going to get some black lug nuts soon and do the exhaust tips to go completely black on the exterior!
I plastidipped mine. Holding up pretty well after a couple months.

I had mine powder coated by a local shop. Cost me $50 and it was only that much because $50 is their minimum charge. I think I could have had 2 or 3 pair done for that cost if I'd had anyone else interested.

Heated the ball on the tip and it popped right off the cut and smoothed the new tip with a 4.5” grinding wheel. Added a little JB Weld and reattached the tip. Then it got 6 coats of Rustolium.
