Body color bumper or not?

Hi guys,

I know Ram didn’t offer body color bumpers on last gen. I am debating if I should go with the Chrome or body color bumper on my 2019 Limited order with Granite crystal color. What do you guys think?

4th gens had body color bumpers as well, the sport models, Longhorn and Limited all offered this option. Pic of my 2018 with body color bumpers:

Nice truck! The salesmen told me it was the first time (go figure). How did you like the body color bumper? Do you wish you would have gone for the chrome bumper instead?

I’ve had both, my 2012 RAM Laramie had chrome bumpers, pic below. I prefer less chrome personally.

Personally I think chrome works to contrast. Here’s the 2017 SLT I picked up 2 weeks ago. Clean it looks amazing to me.

I have a 4th Gen (2014) express that came with body color bumpers.

I am in the process of having body color bumpers installed on my truck. I figured the “chrome” limited badge and other accents are just enough for me.

I like the look of both but I don’t like the durability of plastic. The chrome bumper is much stronger and take a ditch without issue. On the 2019 I think the all black truck looks amazing. Essentially the sport appearance.

I just picked up my 2500 4x4 in granite with the sport appearance package. The bumpers are painted steel, I guess the 1500s have a plastic cover?

Here is my old truck, same color. Thing with that color, looks good both ways! I got a tradesman so I could paint them to match.

That is exactly what I want to achieve when I’m done.
I would also like to change the mirrors.
Maybe even the door handles.

Man this is a tough decision. A part of me feels if I was buying a Laramie then I would go all out with the black sport appearance package.

But since I am going for a limited in a dark color, granite crystal, I feel like I will take a huge hit in resell if I don’t have a chrome bumper. Specially because of the 22 inch rims.

Salesman are generally morons so yeah don't listen. I would color them, can get em Line-X too hehe.

I know the 4th gen sports were plastic when body color. I figured the 5ths would be too but I cannot tell without touching the new ones.
