I have a 1984 Dodge Ram 2wd. According to many shops and online, my bolt pattern is 5 x .114.3. I want to buy rims from a newer 3rd or 4th gen ram but their bolt patterns all seem to be 5 x 5. All over instagram, I see people with first gen dodges both 2wd and 4wd installing newer ram rims. Are they buying converters for their bolt patterns? Am I missing something? I really want to get the rims in the attached photo... either 20s from a 3rd Gen, or 17s from a fourth gen. what's the best route to take to install them? And please let me know if I have any of my information wrong.
Thanks

PS: there are 18 inch dodge challenger rims with the same bolt pattern (5 x 114.3) as my current rims. Would these work if I couldn't fit the previous rims I mentioned?

the offset is the only thing that is very different. you'll need a spacer to counter for the offset. once you know the spacer size its just a matter of finding a spacer that has the correct bolt pattern

Okay thanks for the information. Are most new rims able to fit on my 1984? My bolt pattern is 5 x 114.3. I noticed some new rims have two sets of bolt holes, am I right?

the rims with two sets of holes are not "universal" there are a bunch of different lug patterns.. but since 5x114.3 is one of the most common usually the rim will be made with that pattern, as far as the rim bolting up yes any rim with that bolt pattern will mount, but you will need to account for offset and clearance

I found a set of used 3rd Gen 20" rims on stock tires. I want to confirm with you guys that the bolt pattern will fit my 84 dodge. I understand about the offset - I will deal with that once I have the rims, but it's quite a long drive to go get the rims, so I wanna make sure they'll work without me needing to buy Bolt pattern adaptors for another few hundred bucks... so, the rim I attached in the picture, will it fit my truck?
Thanks everyone
