Ordered with Tow group not realizing I would not have the 360 feature. Can The Tow mirrors be changed @ my dealer to standard mirrors to get the 360 feature?

I can definitely see them saying it can’t be done. I would just make a new order with what you want. You don’t have to accept the one you already ordered.

I just reordered, So I'm back at day one.

I feel you man. I just refused to buy one I ordered in January for the exact same reason. Silver lining is that I decided to add the sport appearance package. FYI you can get the trailer brake as an option, and if you didn't, you can get that installed at the dealer at least.

You know that's interesting.. People are constantly making a deal of the tow mirrors removing this feature even on FCA employee Facebook page but I haven't been into one yet to know about wiring but I'm betting since the sales code has 360 view once the mirrors are installed it'll work

For what my understanding and been told about the tow mirrors is the following:

Tow mirrors will not EVER be able to power fold.
Tow Mirrors will not EVER be able to have 360 Viewing
Tow Mirrors are Wired totally different due to the "Folding out" of the Mirrors.

I hope some one who has them on the new 19 can say I have it wrong! But my 2014 could never have power folds either with the Folding out Tow mirrors.

I thought that the MY19 would at least have power folding tow mirrors. But nope. HD Rams have had them since MY15. What gives with the 1500’s????

I'm so glad I came across this thread! Headed to the dealer in the morning to delete the tow group from the order or re order...

Can the trailer brake controller be had as a stand alone option?

It seems they have had issues with Power Folding Mirrors vs. the Tow mirrors since the power folds came out in 12 or 13 MY. on the 1500's. Wish the hell they would remodel the power folds to extend out far enough to Tow large Box trailers and subsequently dis-continue the manual fold tow mirrors. IMO. :)

I posed this question to my parts guy. He is looking into it. From what I understand so far, it would also require swap of the control modules in the doors and control panel on the driver side. Probably would need ECU update as well. I don’t have 360 camera so that is not a issue for me.

I just bought a 2019 150 with tow mirrors... and I wish I ran across these threads a little earlier.

I would like to swap out for the standard power folds. I don't really care about the 360 view, but I would like to get the mirrors in closer to the cab.

So, is the general consensus that I'll need new mirrors, new door controls, and a software update from the dealer?

New door switch and possibly wire harnesses. So far no one has reported being able to do this successfully. Big hurdle is getting FCA to approve addition of the necessary sales codes to the VIN and reflash. Those that have done it could only get the mirror glass to move and puddle/signal lights. No reflash and no power folding.

chrisb198 is right, when I ordered my Longhorn and clicked on trailer brake controller a window popped up and said hitch receiver required. No brainer, got hitch, brake controller, folding mirrors with 360 view camera.

I was taking about "power folds" on the 2500 so it would seem they could be ordered for the 1500 I was thinking. So your truck will have Power Folding Mirrors with 360 views?
