hey guys my wife and I will be back home from the deployment around mid July, ive never been big into pistols so I was wondering what you guys would recommend for someone who is 5'2" and 105lbs..my wife is def not a big girl so I want her to be able to defend herself if she ever needed to..i should also add that shes not afraid to shoot the big guns lol shes shot my dads Barrett M99 .50 cal..im sure it will be a mix of open and CC...thanks in advance!

The keltec pf9 is going to be my next purchase for a gun to toss in when I wear ball shorts and ETC. All my carry guns are full size 1911 or my sr9.
    So I'm looking for a smaller 9mm.
May be something to check into for your wife. They make a pocket clip and are really slim. Price is right too probably have one otd for 320. Never gonna like DA trigger set ups but the reviews are pretty solid.

Mine likes her Springfield XDS, I have mainly 45 ammo and pistols so that is a logical choice for us.

Looked at the XDm but with ammo so hard to get I did not want to chase it down. When the market comes back on Ammo then I may move her to a 40 or 9 and I will carry the xds :happy107: Right now it is the trusty old Compact Colt Commander which prints too easily in the summer.

Depends if she is comfortable with guns..for something that's just point and shoot, you could do a revolver like a .38...but if she is comfortable shooting and ok with recoil then you could do a compact gun like a glock 27 .40 cal or a glock 26 9mm!

I ordered a XDM 9mm for my wife. Also got a short trigger for her.

I agree with this 100%. I believe you said that she is comfortable shooting bigger guns with recoil, so I would recommend a glock 26. That's plenty of stopping power unless she needs it for bear attacks or something of that sort. Both my girlfriend and my dad's girlfriend are very comfortable shooting the Glock 26 and they are very small framed as well. I've shot it a bunch and it has almost no recoil. Plus you get the reliability and peace of mind that comes with carrying a Glock.
