My carven came out of the clamp. I guess I didn't have it centered. Does anyone know the torque of the clamp? I tossed my installation instructions

I just centered and tightened mine up pretty good ...as far as tq goes I'd say approximately 300 - 360 inch pounds //25- 30 foot pounds ...

I probably put about 350" lbs on mine & they were tight when I removed it after over a year ...I'd say an extra 50" lbs wouldn't hurt a 15mm nut .
Hope this helps !!

Thanks.... That sounds about right.... I think I'll split the difference 330. I emailed carven to see but I know I won't get a response this weekend.

I installed my Carven by myself in late August with 500 miles on my Rebel. Currently have 3800 miles on it. The Carven 5" black tips lined up perfectly. I 'm keeping an eye on them and any movement I'll get the exhaust spot welded down after readjusting.

I had my first oil change Thursday and the mechanic said that everything looked good and the collar sleeve bolts were very tight. I must have done something right!

The customer service at Carven is rediculously good! This is the second time they have impressed me. I questioned them about the torque and they said it was 40 ft lbs but they are affraid the integrity of my clamps were compromised (which was my mistake for not centering them right when I first installed the exhaust). They sent me all new clamps at no charge! Just got them today.

Instead of putting OEM back on why not go with something like a 24" Magnaflow (Mufflex).

If not, definitely by the 5" tips from Moe's (Mufflex). They actually make the stock a little more audible and deeper. To my ear it makes the stock beast sound like it does on high idle at start up, instead of ho-hum on low idle.

do you guys prefer the bolt on vs the weld on? I am looking to buy and I am thinking of just having it welded on.

Any problems with a competitor series weld on? Any tips....

there is no issues getting it welded in. although Carven made revisions and there is no need, the bolt im muffler kits have no issues now

I have the bolt on, I prefer it because it is just more convenient. One piece, unbolt the factory muffler and bolt on the carven. No need to go to a welding shop.

Bolt on all the way. Why even have to deal with finding a welder with a lift when a floor jack, a couple of jack stands and a 15mm socket make it job done?!

If you live on the rust belt... it might be worth paying for it.

My Carven competitor exhaust has an annoying (not to me but I can see how it would annoy others) drone when I have the cruise control set at 60 mph. My radio usually drowns that out though
