My 2018 Ram came with Factory tint , but the passenger side was messed up. They have redone it now 3 times at the dealership, but it keeps having dust and debris between the film and window. They said their shop isn't enclosed so it cant be helped. A place that has done work on my truck in the past for nerf bars, light kit installs and various other aftermarket mods offers tint. They can tint both my front windows with ceramic for $120. Thinking of going this route, since the dealership doesn't offer ceramic anyway. Thoughts? Is ceramic tint that much better that regular tint?

In my opinion, the ceramic tint is worth the money. It doesn't mess with cell phone signals and rejects the heat better.

Are you in Texas?

I have ceramic on all of my cars and you can tell it is noticeably cooler inside versus a vehicle with standard tint.

I just had ceramic Lumar tint done a couple months ago. HUGE difference. Worth the extra bucks. No issues with electronics or cell phone service.

i wouldnt accept it can't be helped its the dealers responsibility to fix it to factory spec. if they have to send it out then they have to send it out.

"Factory Spec" means the glass doesn't need tint, the glass is colored already.

Somebody clarify WTH's the deal? Did the dealer ADD additional tint to the existing tinted, or clear glass or what. I get you're in Texas, and just as in Arizona you can match tint the fronts.

Any *Factory Tint* that came on the vehicle from the plant is nothing more than colored glass and does not offer any UV or heat rejection.
If the front two windows are tinted, it was installed at the dealership, and therefore is not *Factory*.
Ceramic tint is a worthwhile option...blocks more heat and does not interfere with electronics. However, be aware of "off angle" hazing.

I have Ceramic 30% all the way around and it is amazing. My truck stays outside during the work day. There is a big difference between mine and my coworkers.

Definitely worth it! Considerably greater heat rejection than non-ceramic tint. Look into the Air Blue front windshield tint too, it is clear but provides great heat rejection also, kind of pricey at @$120-130 but worth it

Ceramic all the way

I have tinted every vehicle I have owned for the last 30 years. All of them have had conventional tint until 3 weeks ago when I go my Ram 1500 CC done with Ceramic. Granted I'm in Virginia and summer was already over when I got it. We've had a couple of hot days, and almost no heat comes through the window with this tint. I got 20% on the back doors and windows, 50% on the front doors and a 5% strip on the windshield. A long time friend owns the tint shop and always tints my trucks for $100 no matter what I get done. He said he normally would charge $300 for a CC. Looks great and stays cool

Never had the Ceramic but looks like it is nice. I think here I like the heat coming through the tint though as it is cold more than it is warm.
