Changed trans now OD not working

Hey guys changed out my trans from my 97 to my 2000 . Everything works fine except it wont shift into over drive or forth gear . Any ideas what it could be . Thanks

You need the electronics from the 2000my transmission.

Which eltronics are you talking about . Any more details would help . Could you explain it a little more .

The 2000+ governor transducer and the 2000+ torque coverter clutch /overdrive solenoid pack.

@riturbo they bolt to the valve body. The neutral safety is external.

Thanks guys . I guess the neutral safety must have been the plug i changed out with the three wires on the back top of the trans . Used the plug from the truck I took the trans from . That seems to be working .

Will it hurt anything to drive it as is ? Right now its in full plow mode with the sander and plow mounted . Is this something I can do myself or should I just drop it off to a trans shop .Not like I haven't been in the pan before .

can I just pull the whole valve body out of my old trans and switch it or should I just buy the stuff I need new .

On a budget you can swap the old electronics while leaving valvebody in the trans. Otherwise just get new. Can swap valvebody as well but that's no easier of a job
