Pressing the cruise control on/off button does nothing. This has been an on/off issue but usually I could quickly correct it while driving and not even pulling over. Up until recently I could hold the "Set -" button for a few seconds and then hit the on/off and it would work again.

Anyone else experience this?

I just got my truck back from the dealer for this issue. The culprit was a connector between the switch and the next computer box it connects to. Took them three days to fix this as they thought it was the switch at first, had to order it, found out it wasnt the issue and then narrowed it down to this connector, and had to order that.

I would recommend taking it to the dealer and telling them this so they can expedite the fix.

Ya. To no avail will it engage. Multiple presses at various speeds or even at complete stop.

Pulled the fuse and not burnt. Likely a software issue I am thinking.

If it's under warranty take to the dealer. It's their problem.

For sure. That was the plan anyway. All under warranty. Just worth doing your own research before visiting for warranty work so that it's dealt with quickly and without extra unneeded work.

Let us know what they find. Mine won't work at all on my 2014 sport. The 8 speed shift buttons won't work either.

Did the dealer every find the cause of the issue? Bringing my truck in Thursday for intermittent cruise control issues as described in this thread. Would love to get t fixed this time, this will be my second trip. First time in they replaced the buttons.

They did repair it. Although they did not replace my switch. The contractors were dirty and reported improper voltage to the computer. Cleaned the contractors, cleared the codes and it has ran since. Although I didn’t get the truck in till early December.

No further issues as of yet.

I had this happen in an older ram. It ended up being the brake pedal sensor was sticking, I rarely drive at night it took me 2 years to figure it out. Just fyi

The dealer just called me, they traced it to a faulty clock spring in the steering column, which they are replacing under warranty. I’ll be picking the truck up tonight, I hope this is the end of my troubles.

Thought everything was fixed as I left the dealer, as soon as I got on the highway the cluster went dead. Back to the dealer Monday :(

I can confirm that holding the gear +,- buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds fixes this issue for me.

Yup. Pushing on it really hard would make it work sometimes. But it was always temperamental. Almost a month and a half now and still working.

I want to thank Andrea (Ramcares) for helping me work through my issues with the dealer. The third time around, the dealer from which I purchased my Ram from in December, took one week to diagnose and fix the cruise control issue with my truck. Although it was a major inconvenience the dealer did replace the buttons, clock spring, and finally the wiring harness within the steering column in an attempt to correct the issue. Finally it appears the issue has been corrected. My gut tells me from the poor customer service from the dealer that they wouldn't have given it the attention they did without Ramcares phone call and follow up.
Andrea and her team followed up with the dealer while my truck was getting serviced. They also followed up with me yesterday to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. It was top notch service from the manufacturer, I was very impressed. Thank you!
