Im turning 21 next month and im going to go get my concealed handgun license but i still havent decided on what to carry. I want to try and stick to a 1911 style gun but so far all the ones i like are pretty expensive so i thought id get everyones opinion on here.

the ones i like so far are the kimber ultra carry, the colt new agent, and the springfield compact gun but all of these are kind of pricey

CC a Glock 19 here w/ 2 15 mag's. not one jam at the range and its ugly so you dont squirm when you drop it.

Yea those are nice because theyre not too expensive and i know no one is going to see the gun since it will be concealed but for some reason i really like the 1911 style more....if i cant find an affordable one i might just have to get something like that though

The glock would also be a little easier to conceal then a 1911.

I cc my ruger sr40c. Really like the size and feel of the colt defender, just a bit in the $$$$ side right now.

I have a Ruger SR1911 that is not breaking the bank by anymeans. I carry that from time to time but its not my primary. My DD is a PT-92AF which is built alot like the 1911's but the hammer system is SA/DA unlike the 1911's. I am a bigger guy so its easier to conceal the bigger frame guns but 90% of the time I open carry, I dont make it a big hassel to hide. Have you shot mainly 1911's or just like the caliber in .45?

    Here is pics of mine

Ive shot mostly 1911s ive shot them in 9mm 45mm and 38super and i just really like the feel and look of them which is why my first thought was to get one like the kimber ultra carry but man the prices are pretty expensive....i like the ruger 1911 and the price is good and im also a big guy but i will have to conceal it to im worried about how hard thatll be

    Check the photos I added.

With the right holsters it wont be to bad. The 1911's tend to have a slim frame and might not fill your hand as much as a double stack style gun will. The SR1911 is my first personal 1911, I had shot a few S&W and Kimbers before that and it does fairly well, not as smooth as the Kimber Warrior I shot but that gun had also had a bunch of work done to it. I have only ran 50 rounds through it and only 30 of those have been shot by me. Muzzle flip was there till I got used to the recoil and now I can double tap and put the two rounds in 2 inches at 15 feet.

My wife carries an XDM in 40 with a blackhawk serpa holster and both her and I can carry it anywhere and you will not notice it unless im wearing a shorter shirt. The Serpa holds the gun higher then your belt line.

That's a really nice ruger it's actually like one that I was looking at getting the other day but I guess I'll have to start looking at other options since it does seem like a shame to carry something so nice and mess it up
