I bought my 2012 Ram 1500 used with 60k miles. For peace of mind, I want to change front/rear diff, xfer case and probably tranny fluid as well. Is there an way to tell from the VIN# what diffs/cases I have to know what to use?
I have no warranty issue as it's expired, so no need to worry about using MOPAR stuff- I have a buddy that does mechanical stuff for me that's beyond my abilities (not this lol, but bigger work) who swears by Amsoil, but I'm open to others' suggestions as far as synthetics.
just brought one and a left handed screw driverThanks buddy , I believe the front end is aluminum? Gonna have to break out my aluminum magnet for the front case

thisFor gear oil, I would recommend either Redline or Amsoil SG
Glad it worked out for ya [emoji106]Also the one quart pump didn't thread onto the redline bottle. Shoudve got the gallon size. It still works but you got to hold the pump and bottle at the same time which was a little tedious.
Is that a Phillips or Standard? I already have the left hand torx set.just brought one and a left handed screw driver
Most of the Gear oil test and charts I've seen or read have Royal Purple ranked near the bottom of the list [emoji106]What is the opinion regarding Royal Purple for the differentials? I have some sitting on my shelf that's full syn w/friction modifier added. Or Mobile 1. Nobody around me carries Red Line. Thx..
