I do need the gear +/- .. haven't quite figured out what they do other than preventing upshift passed the selected gear but thats for another thread.

yea I will just pull the gear buttons from my old steering wheel. I got it for $125CAD+shipping, stoked to get this mod going!! Need me some hands free.

A little confused on the wiring. Obviously the 2 wires for the switches, but the rest of it...especially the long flat plug in what does that hook too?

The long flat plug sounds like the one that connects to the controls on the front of the wheel for the cruise control, gears, evic, and hands free controls.

I wonder what this button does?

Yep I figured it out. The wiring is replaced by the new harness, not added along with the other.

2012 heated steering wheel with audio controls

Hey I am hoping I didn't blow it. I bought a wheel off a 2012. I looks like the right wheel but I see here it says 2013 & up? Also do I need to add wiring for the heated wheel to work as well?

Do you have to have the dealer flash the correct code into the computer for the radio controls to work? I read somewhere that on the 2016 and up trucks you do, but now I can't find where I read that at. I have the Uconnect 5.0 if that makes a difference.

    No code required .
    Radio type doesn't matter .
