wow, really good info, i'm curious if the same process could be applied to be used as running lights along the side of a truck, how long can you make a strip before you start loosing light in the middle, and how long you can get those rods....JJ, do you have any ideas? could be a cheap way to add custom lights to other places besides inside your headlights....

yeah, there really is alot of options, but the big question really is diffusion, how long can you go without loosing the consistent beam...

well, aren't all my ideas great? i do have a 2nd gen afterall! lol

when i have some time i might do some research on this, i would hope you could do atleast 12 inches, but it would be nice if you could do more like 50 or 60 inches, with only 2 lights. not sure if it would be possible though. In my experience LEDs have a tendency to diffuse pretty easily...but with the reflective tape, they might work pretty good....and far cheaper than buying LED strips, and getting a solid line, isntead of a dotted line...

Yeah I looked there awhile back because I'm not worried much about the brand of them but even on there the last time I seem them they were like 125-130. So I'd almost rather just pay the little extra and get the recons lol but I should check again and see what they got

my problem with the sets you get is they really only cover under the doors. measure your cab, than look at how much they give you. What i want to do, is run amber from my front tire to my back tire, and than red from my back tire to my rear bumper. i think it would look great, the problem being that if i do that with LED strips, i'm looking at several hundred bucks to get it done, where as this, i should be able to do it for ALOT cheaper, and get a more custom look

Okay I see what you're saying! I was only looking to do under the doors like they give you enough for with those kits. Especially since I only have the single cab I think that would suffice

you probably won't get 2-3 inches without light fade. I know some of the cheaper LED halos I've seen have had 2-3 in a small halo.

Yeah eBay changes there prices constantly....that's where I get all my parts mostly.... A set of cab lights is $30 and I've seen the side makers for anywhere between $50-$70... I'm looking for a set myself so if I find any in my price range I will PM a link to you as well

i'll use ebay for some stuff, when i know the quality is there. if i'm not sure of the quality and warranty, i'll go somewhere i trust. but there is alot on ebay that is the exactly the same as elsewhere, just a quarter of the price.
