I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 v6 5 speed 2wd single cab, i installed 2" drop shackles to level the back of the truck with the front because it looks ******** with my 22's, but it only ended up lowering the rear barley over a inch, WTF! :hmm: my question is can I remove the overload spring or do I even have one?????

You should have a short leaf, that only goes about 2/3 the length of the leaf pack. That's your overload.

I removed mine and never looked back. Netted me about 1/2" more drop.

Another option is when the truck is sitting on the ground loosen the shackle bolt a little bit and let the truck settle. It is very possible and probable that when jacked up the bolt was tightened in the least restrictive way causing less drop than was available.

Nice! The same thing happened to me when I put the 2" level on, couldn't tell it did a thing! So I gave in and got a 2/4.5 kit lol

Mine sits pretty nice with the 1.5" drop shackles and the OL removed. One thing I have noticed with the OL removed is it feels like the truck is a little rougher riding than it was.

The 60 to 0 stance

I had S1S shackles w/ OL removed and visually it was level but cant remember the measurements now since its been so long. The big difference was how easier it was to get in and out of the bed.
