Hey guys, Im new to the forum and I have a question... I had a 1993 Dakota and it threw a rod so i am now looking for a new vehicle. Im torn between getting a 4 door 1500 4wd with a Hemi.. Or get a Jeep Wrangler. Yes I know one is a truck and one is a SUV. I just want to get your opinion.

Nah go with the Ram. I rarely use mine as a "Truck" and I love it! You won't be disappointed

Man im trying to sell it for 700 to help with a down payment. It needs quite a bit of work on it though. obvisouly needs a new engine, needs front end work, driverside door needs to be fixed, and needs a headliner. anyone interested hit me up!

Again, it depends what your looking for. If you want something 4wd with some room in it and functionality I would get the truck.

The Wranglers aren't bad but the 2 door versions don't have any room, the 4 doors are ok but I think they are still overpriced for what they are.

LOL ... Now lets show my age, I bought a new CJ-5 in 1974 and the MSRP with the options available was $3200. The base price on them was $2600. You look at them today, there really is not that many more things on them.

Just get a 4-door truck. It'll do anything a jeep could plus you've got a bed. Trust me, you'll need it sooner or later
And welcome to the site. I'm just a few hours southwest of ya in NE Texas

I don't know, those Wrangler Unlimited (4 doors) are the same price as a new Ram, for the price I would go with the Ram. You'll have a lot more room and probably be glad you did.

Im not getting a new new one. I cant afford that kind of payment. Im looking at getting between a 2002 and 2008 one. Im not wanting to pay more than 15K for it. The problem is trying to find one close to where I live lol Ive been on auto trader looking at one within 200 miles from my house.. accually heres a couple that I have found and like...
2004 Ram

2005 Ram

2007 Ram

The 04 is the only one that is a Hemi.

Usually the Sport has color matched bumpers, mirrors, door handles and grill. That 2004 is the Sport model but it has the chrome covers on the mirrors (an add on aftermarket) and looks like they might have put some chrome door handle covers on it too. Not to bad of a price.

so 14,990 is a good price for her? I figured I really need to check for rust.. because its been right outside of Tampa and up in Michigan.. I dont know how much salt is in the air in tampa but im pretty sure they use quite a bit of salt on the roads during the winter up in Michigan..

Times I've been in MI, they use that anti skid **** which is worse then salt, mostly they use sand just to give you traction because it usually gets so cold in most areas the salt doesn't do anything.
Thats the same way in upstate NY, throw down sand so you have traction and everyone gets around great.
