when you run your finger nail over the scratch does your nail get catch or do go over the scratch without getting caught? From the looks of it, it looks like a surface scratch you can try using some rubbing compound and buff it out. Otherwise you will have to wet sand it.

Rubbing compound followed by polishing compound will probably clean it up.

Yea I just went out and put my thumb nail over it and it didn't get caught on anything. All it did was give off that horrible sound of the paint being scratched. So you guys think rubbing compound followed by polishing compound will work?

Also since I have never done this before (yea complete detail noob) I have few questions:

1. Do it out of direct sunlight? Also is it ok to do if its hot out?

2. What brands should I get?

3. After doing rubbing and then polish compound do I have to do anything else to that area to protect it?

This is the way I do it but there are more experience folks on here that perhaps can give you a better way but this is what I do. First of all I would suggest getting a buffer it makes things go a lot easier, you can do it by hand but from the past experiences a buffer is the way to go.

first of all clean the area first with soap and water, I like to use dawn
dry it off, also make sure you do it in the shade and avoid direct sunlight

this video will show you how to do it with a buffer and then by hand

Hopes this helps and good luck!!
