We are trying to find the ECM for our 2002 Turbo diesel 2500 Ram truck also.. Anyone have any suggestions on who to contact or where to go to get the ECM sent in for reprogramming or where to find one?

RockAuto.com has some awesome deals on reman'ed ECMs... You might want to wonder over there and check it out.

I will do that thanks. Our local Dodge dealer is willing to change out for a remanufactured one, only I dont have the $1500. plus bucks he wants to do it. I have found several places with EMC's but none that are for a diesel.

Ok more information on ECM's I found out from another member the Cardone with RockAuto has been backing out of doing ECM repairs because of part issues. I've heard back from 2 others now about this and Cardone won't or can't repair the ECM.

As for another tidbit if you got a WAIT TO START light that is flashing or taking a long period of time to come on the memory in the ECM is failing. So ECM replacement is going to come sooner than later.

But it funny every as always check with the Dodge Dealer and you can still purchase new blank ECM's but finding someone capable of rebuilding the ECM or repairing it is nearly impossible...

As from Bob Wagner (Smarty Rep) you can use any ECM on any model according to him but I'm not sure about some of the limitations like crank sensor, etc... There is differences... I'm going to find out more and bring it back here... :naughty:

We've had a few customers swap out there ECM's from one 24v to another. This was so that they could run the Smarty programmer as the old ECM was having troubles being re-programmed. The old ECM was swapped out, a new one from a different year was installed. MADS electronics supplied the proper stock file and the programmer then worked with no issues.
