So without having been to the shop yet I've all but confirmed(moisture under the oil cap) that I either have a blown head gasket or worse. I had already planned on swapping out for another motor eventually anyway but my question is will a 4th gen hemi bolt in to a 3rd gen ram?

Moisture under the cap doesn't always mean a blown head gasket or worse. If you do short distance driving that could be the cause of the moisture.

No a 4th gen engine won't just bolt into a 3rd gen truck. But yeah as far as the moisture under the oil cap, honestly that is completely normal.

How did you jump from some moisture/sludge under the cap all the way to blown head gasket lol? Is your sump full of milkshake? The 4th gen hemi will bolt in physically. That's where it all ends. Next gen CAN bus, VVT, active intake, etc. You'd play hell and pay a helluva lot of money to try to get that to work right.

I would definitely investigate more before tearing into it, I have moisture in my cap because I only drive 2.5 miles to work everyday. Barely gets to temp by the time I get there.

Do you have milky slime also in the radiator reservoir?
Also a blown head gasket will lead usually to white smoke who is actually steam from the exhaust.
Fixing a blown head gasket and a slightly warped head should be doable for not too much cost.
If there are other issues then, well, a used engine is probably the better choice.
