exhaust brake

I have a 07 ram built in oct. 06 with a 5.9 cummins and auto trans 4x4 and want to have a factory exhaust brake installed and have heard of some vac.pump failures and shorting the life of trans and TCs So whats up .

My buddy has a 6.7 with one and it is something i might end up doing down the road, i haven't heard of any problems, it shuts the exhaust, retarding the motor causing the truck to slow down.
It is super nice for trailering down hill.

The exhaust brake on 6.7's use the variable geometry turbo to control the pressure which creates the brakeing effect

You'll want to go with an engine brake (jake brake) over an exhaust brake
