A good friend of mine took off some of his factory flares and actually gave them to me. :happy107:

Thinking about roughing them up and painting them tomorrow. Maybe get them installed on my truck.

For those of you that purchased factory flares and put them on your truck, what did you use to attach them to the body and make a seal.

I thought about heading to the parts store in the morning and see if they have really thin emblem tape.

I want the flares to sit nice and tight against the body just as factory had them.

Thanks

Man, the original adhesive was on there.

Thankfully I had a eraser wheel and it took it right off. Took me about 10 mins per flare. Nothing like hanging in the garage with the stereo blasting and working on the truck.

I have also ordered 1/4" 3M double sided tape and got 30'.

Hope to have these prepped for paint and will be painting them this weekend.

Nice! I need to pull mine off and put on some new adhesive bc part of it got pulled away. Definitely will have to try the eraser wheel when I do it

My factory ones were pulling off as well, when I removed them there was only adhesive on several small spots. Put on some bushwackers and added the oems to my ever growing stock pile

I saw your truck the first time on dodgetalk, great looking truck. All your mods seem to turn out great and add something to the truck small or large

Too bad I didn't sit on it and think about it. Some of you have the same color. Could have sold them dirt cheap..

I've already prepped them for paint - so some edges have worn through otherwise I could just clear them and they'd be like new..

Well, I'll hopefully have them painted Saturday afternoon and on the truck Saturday evening.

Going to paint them.. while they are drying, wash and detail the truck.. when done, they should be dry enough to put on the truck.

DANG IT!! I want some of the factory flares for my truck!! Lucky man.

They look good. I have the same color, so now I know what it'll look like when I eventually get some.

Nice, same color as mine as well...I need to do this soon, and get a color matching grill as well.

How are you protecting the paint, from the fender flares. An also the elements from going in between the cracks
