My local muffler shops want about $200 to put Flowmasters on my truck. I'm thinking it would be cheaper to just buy it and do it myself. Considering that I have about average mechanical skills, would it be worth spending the money to have someone else do it, or save the money and do it Han style (Solo)?

If $200 includes the price of the muffler, I don't think that's too bad. Do you have the factory dual exhaust? If so you need a 3" single in 2.5" dual out muffler. I had an exhaust shop install a 14" Magnaflow, and it was around $200. If you get a Flowmaster, make sure you get stainless. Those things rot out fast.

yep- spend the $$ unless you have a welder and pipe on hand.
I've managed to do all of my mods, except the exhaust- as I have no welder or skills in that area.
