Just an FYI if anyone is going to replace their leaf spring bushings. The energy suspension bushings are 1.75", my spring and a quick search confirmed that the 1500 leaf spring has 1.5" bushings. I did find the correct size through Ruff Stuff Specialties.

Replaced the seals in the front axle the yesterday. Removed the carrier, took a piece of 1.5" pvc pipe and knocked the old seals out. Went pretty quick.75b98afde521debd56094bd50450f435.jpg62b68afe4a2f8a4e86d1cad0088deb84.jpg8aaff92f3f319790da873b229cbf932f.jpgf007517fc0d02eab24cc4390c3d8dc6e.jpgf84a20e5f38dd3c3694069a0fa123a77.jpg2f1e64976e618a97f7cd24426ea79b95.jpg5222bba7e26a90e4b3d40a2b2bef093d.jpg

Got the calipers rebuilt and the u-joint installed in the right axle shaft. The left side decided to be difficult so I didn't get it installed yet.4e339dbf20988246a4c34330337ded23.jpg33c6596cbe3327c58a154b740d46ce78.jpgcad48a832533e68dd920e5279aac9de3.jpg

Got the truck back on it's wheels, with a little help from the kids. Also got the bed off.c69b18ac4b02080ba78752b297751890.jpg0764de391cde75bc6acde1dd5e16ce7b.jpg063b7ece17b406638cb43826f57ebba0.jpgecb204691af1c021a9a132f4f5b73586.jpg94bf2c813f41a863956365bce37b770b.jpg

This is why I started this project. Once the bed was off my wife even commented that she could see why I was doing this.d032b3dca1e2c4f15b22a737c78ec94d.jpg9d3fa229491a5d5ce60a430566349c20.jpg939ea852a508b4ab411637e735c80be1.jpg322bb15df0aff7267c90200808f7dd05.jpg3acf8fba27399776b30e9e0bf8f2cb30.jpgdeac1982753b5ea7495f759544b53f3f.jpg

Found out some good news when taking apart the axle. This frame was from a 2000 and not a 99 like I was told. So much to my surprise I have dual piston calipers.

The lower control arms were the only difficult part so far. Wasn't expecting them to put up a fight but, in the end I won...with a cut off wheelhttps://uploads.tapatalk-

I was going to say the silver lining here is you get to ensure your ball joints and control arms are in good shape.

Carpet is out. Headliner is almost out. Little bit of rust to clean up on the driver's side 62cfe73ad818ea59e7930095572ec78d.jpgb23e9d8953916d186d1513c268fedf61.jpg9c5731c17245fb6add3955cfcb464b59.jpg62749c5269b97f2264c3d2b7846b17d0.jpg45ef2d5407d31b6cb2cc7bec8d182ec8.jpg

Ok, so I'm trying to figure out how the brake line and gear shift bracket are routed. My old frame had the brake line replaced and routed however was convenient, the new frame may have had a manual trans since only 1 hole is threaded.

If someone could take a look on their truck and send me a pic that would be appreciated.f327fc5eee8099a91f62a5205c215211.jpg410a3fe81534ccfc3aedf30fd84482ab.jpg

Came across a small issue, they changed the design of the parking brake from 1999 to 2000. So the cable end on the new cables I have will not fit into the older lever.

Oh well, guess I'll see what I can find at the pull it yard in the near future.

Got the interior completely removed. Going to replace the heater core while the dash is out. Just need to figure out how I'm going to remove the cab so I can clean up the underside before putting it on the new frame.c30c17971674cc54ad3d11b30f5adc66.jpg313475abbeff309c444173956c81afef.jpg
