Need to replace the front brake & pads on my '95.. wondering if anyone has heard of Max brakes .com .. I know they're a Canadian based company & read some reviews on amazon & facebook.. I just found out about the company when a guy posted his brake kit on facebook.. I talked to him breifly, but he just got them in the mail today and he's impressed with the quality so far. They're selling 2 drilled & slotted front brake disc kit w/ceramic pads (Zinc black coated for 84 bucks or Zinc silver for 74 bucks) .. just wondering if anyone has ever bought or used them..?? thx

First off, I would never use ceramic pads on a truck, they don't like the heat and won't take as much abuse with heavy loads. Unless you have a street truck, then go ahead.

Never use organic pads on something as heavy as these trucks, they will overheat and fade in no time.

Thanks for the info. i'll check out some other brake kits too. My truck is just a 1500 RWD w/stock suspension & doesn't do a lot of heavy duty hauling.. I've been wanting to install a lowering kit & some 20's to make it more of a street truck cruiser.

Full-size trucks I would stick to semi-metallic pads only. I wasn't paying attention and used ceramic last time, was in a hurry to get em done. Noticed it said ceramic on the box 2 days later. Answered my own question for why it didn't stop as well. They last nicely and seem to stay cooler than my old semi-metallic with minimal fade but actual stopping power is noticeable reduced. First couple stops when wet locks em up too.

I agree.. I prefer slotted rotors over drilled & slotted.. I think you're both right about using semi-metallic over ceramic pads, so I'm going to invest in a premium set of stock rotors w/semi pads. thx
