Front diff bearing/seal replace

I have an 03 1500 5.7 4x4. I put a leveling kit on the front a few years ago. A few days ago my buddy inspected it and showed me that the CV Axle had a lot of play. He said he thinks its the fact the level kit put pressure on the CV Axle and wore out whatever is right inside differential where the axle goes in. Is that a bearing or something that can be replaced from the outside or do you have to open up the pumpkin?

Is the play/wiggle inside the inner cv joint, or actually inside the pumpkin?
