Front shock supports busted

Hey there, my first post on this forum. I have a 2005 Ram 1500 that the previous owner added a 3" lift kit to a couple of years before I bought it. I noticed that the top front shock supports were slightly bent when installing new shocks last summer. Now after 6 months - and numerous trips on our washboard county roads - both of the top supports have snapped off.
Has anyone else had a similar issue, and if so, how did you repair?
