I'll start first by saying the injectors that i did this to are NOT from a ram. In fact they are from a Cobra Mustang and will be going in my truck when i put together my supercharger. This procedure will however work for the factory 2000+ red injectors as they are of the same USCAR pencil style. Will also work on the 99 down EV1 fat style though it will look slightly different.
I ordered a filter and pintle cap replacement kit from www.osidetiger.com for $15 or so if i remember correctly.
Here is what came in the kit:
The yellow rings are spacers that weren't on the injectors i have so I'm not using them. I also decided to leave the pintle caps on.
Step 1: remove the o-rings
Step 2: take the included sheetmetal screw and clamp it in a vise and thread the injector inlet onto it. I happened to have a hanger like you would typically find in a garage for hanging bikes and such, that had the sane thread width. I used this because the hook basically formed a handle to grab so i didn't need a vise. Thread it in and pull to remove the filter like so.
If what comes out does not have the brass bushing on it you need to thread it in farther.
