Fuel Tank recall

Did anybody else get this fuel tank recall? I got one yesterday for my 2011 Ram 1500 and the dealer said they'll need to keep it for a day because they have to take the tank out to see if it needs a new brackets.

I think its for the fuel tank strap, not the entire fuel tank being recalled/replaced

If it is in the tank definitely have them change the pump and gauge. I never looked on my truck, but my old f150 body had them in the tank.

I got one for my 12 as well, also something else I got a recall for. Something about shift interlock

The shift interlock was co Corning the gear shifter lever coming out of "park" and potentially making the truck roll. They recommend always using the parking brake when parking the truck. Last I heard they did t have a fix for it.

Got an appointment at the dealership for the fuel tank strap. Can’t get in till the end of the month though, something about a “limited availability” of the parts.

Read something about the shift issue a while back. Has something to do with the solenoid(the one that clicks when you apply the brakes) that releases to allow the shifter to move from park. Sounded like if you had your foot on the brake for to long, the solenoid wood heat up, swell, and cause the lock pin to stick in the “unlocked” position. Once the pin is stuck, it becomes possible to shift from park without having to apply the brakes.

Hey, Mc, if you haven't already downloaded the My Mopar app, you might want to...it'll alert you to any campaigns and recalls for your truck, among other things. That's how I found out about the U-61 recall.

Do you like the Ram Toolbox app? I don't really see what it has over the My Mopar one, so I think I'll pass on it unless there's a really good reason to have it.
