Does anyone know how to upgrade the GPS in the truck
GPS in RAM trucks is not very good. The updates are typically over two years old and cost a lot of money - about $150USD. Even if you buy the newest maps, they are still two years out of date. Many folks are using Garmin or Tom Tom or other apps on a tablet or smartphone.
You used to get a DVD from Uconnect to install the upgrades. Now I believe you download the maps from Uconnect and load them onto a USB drive to install.
To upgrade my NAV in the truck I simply shut it off and mounted my Tom Tom. My Nav is a POS.
I decided I did not want the RAM Nav, I have been using my GARMIN for years now in my service truck and RAM
For 100$ life time updates too Sorry no help with the OEM Nav
Our Ram head unit preload the latest map data, iGO(2016.10) or Sygic(2017.02).
Lifetime free upgrade! Usually new map data is released semi-annually.
