Got a leaky manifold. Might as well upgrade, anyone got ideas on what's good? Are the ARH longs worth it? Or should I just get replacement shorties n replace the y-pipe?

Already have muffler n res gone. Plan on hemifever tune n throttle body n CAI.

Replace studs with stockers? Or ARP???? Any specific gasket brand recommended? Or just go with felpro?

Welcome to the forum, mj23polaris.

Which truck are you working on?

Shorty headers seem to work best on trucks as they promote better low end torque than a long tube, which is really designed for high end speed.

I'd use the ARP fasteners and Felpro would be my choice for gaskets.

I guess it depends on which truck you are working on and what you are doing with this truck on a daily basis.

Daily driver / Work truck -> I would go with MADDOG's suggestion of shorties
Race rig / Go fast -> Long tubes are the option

If you haul stuff around shorties and a good tuner will get you a long way in regards to better power, and MPG savings.

I don't know about ARH haeders, my only experience and knowledge is with JBA. They have a solid reputation, and make a good reliable product they stand behind.

For the Gasket, either OEM or (+1 on MADDOG) Felpro (Felpro makes the OEM for RAM) and they have been proven to be thicker and a little more forgiving in regards to trueness of the surface.
Fasteners are definitely ARP if you can afford them. (+1 on MADDOG again here)

Hope this helps

Do they make LT's now for HD trucks? I used oem gaskets an 6.1 header bolts for about 2yrs now no issues. Im running pacesetters on my 1500, I have a friend that has ARH's on his 4G 1500 an it's a real nice product but a lot of $$
