So after several days of noticing my heated seat won't stay on I found it's some how linked to the remote start. If I use my remote start the heated seat does not work. If I just turn the truck on normally it does turn on and works well. Has anyone come across this? I'm so lost on where to begin to check.

I believe there is a setting in the radio as to when they come on.

My 2010 does the same thing, funny thing is, my heated steering wheel works fine using auto start. You can set it up through your EVIC but my heated seat still doesn't work using remote start.

It use to come on. But if I remote start then go out and drive I try to put the heated seat on and it won't come on. But the passenger seat will. If I go and start the truck with my key it comes on and works great

As a temporary fix, can you stop your remote start before you climb in and then start it with the key while inside?

My wife's 2003 Honda won't shut off the interior light after a remote start unless you leave the door open while inserting your key. Sometimes you need a Arthur Fonzarelli move to make it all work!

Yes I can do that as a temporary fix. However it ****** me off that it's not working properly. I feel like base model is calling my name. I miss simplicity

Ok so I took it to the dealer they re flashed the computer. Works fine now. One thing they mentioned was I recently put in a new battery. That may be the issue.

I haven't touched my battery since buying the truck almost 2 years ago, it just quit working with the remote but works fine when I do a regular start. Might have to check with the dealer about that reflash. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi Scgirardi,

I'd be happy to follow up with your dealership for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know!

I know I'm a little late to the party on this, but have a 2009 Laramie Quad Cab that has started exhibiting the same issue. Drivers side heater works if manually started. If auto-started, it won't work after inserting and turning the key fob. Passenger side works fine. I can turn the truck off after auto-start then back on as a solution, but don't like doing that in the recent very cold temps. Just curious if there were any updates (or hopefully solutions) on this.

I'm thinking it's the control module, but since it's a little expensive, I haven't been in a rush to replace it to see.

All I know is my seats in my new '17 Sport don't warm up like my wife's seats in her '15 Cherokee. Her seats get actually hot where mine I can barely feel the warmth. I'm tempted to get a wrecked Cherokee and swap heating elements in the seats. Anyone else have this issue.........?

My 2010 Laramie has been doing this same issue lately. Remote start and the heated steering wheel works fine, but the front seat heaters will not turn on. I can manually push the seat heater button and it will light up for a few seconds and then go off.

I don't remember if I noticed that if I don't use remote start, and if they will work after manually starting the pickup. I will have to check that out tomorrow morning. I do know that after I've driven the pickup later on like when I go to lunch, the seat heater will come on and stay on until I turn it off. It just ****** me off to have ice cold leather seats to sit on during my 20 minute commute to work. Where do I find the settings for the seat heaters at in the EVIC or in the radio?

Also, as another note, I've noticed that even though my easy access seat memory is enabled in the EVIC, it hasn't been working either. I have alfaobd so should I look at some settings in there?

Is there a setting in the computer that we can change with AlfaOBD when the seat heaters work in relation to the ambient temp outside?

I have 2011 Ram 1500. The driver's side heated seat would come on for 2 seconds then shut off. So I stayed in the truck went into the system setup turned off the comfort system. Then I remote started it while still inside. Then you still need to unlock the door open and close door put key in ignition turn to run, turn on heated seat. Turn off truck. Then start with key go back and turn on comfort system. Then turn off truck. While still in it remote start it. Unlock door with remote and open and close door. Verify heated seat is on. And bam my has worked fine ever since....
