Hello everyone!

Newbie here, just got a used 2011 Ram Hemi 5.7, and am looking into putting like a 2" to 2.5" inch front leveling kit. Any recommendations on brand? Am looking for a reasonable priced one yet very reliable.

Oh, based on my research, is there a need to change upper control arms as well if adding spacers (leveling kit)? Some don't install new, while others install new control arms because of the angle. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys!

I’ve never had a problem getting a billet aluminum kit off eBay..... I’ve ran eBay leveling kits on several of my past trucks with never an issue.

Hello everyone, so I'm planning on leveling my 2011 Ram 5.7 Hemi 4x4, and I'm currently looking into 2 options, Front Strut Extensions (spacers?) OR Front Leveling Struts. Here's a link for better reference:

Front Strut Extensions (Spacers?) - http://www.roughcountry.com/dodge-leveling-lift-kit-395.html

Front Leveling Struts - http://www.roughcountry.com/dodge-leveling-struts-30001.html

Which would you recommend (price not being a factor). Any thoughts or recommendations, even comments on brand would be much appreciated.

Thanks guys!

2” you will be fine I’m not sure on the 2.5” maybe just the occasional contact when your really flexing it out.

keep us posted as to how they work out. I believe most use Bilstein 5100s to level the front of the trucks

If you are doing the leveling kit yourself hopefully your lower strut bolt won’t be seized in the bushings. I ran into this problem just this past weekend and couldn’t finish it. Everything else came apart easy until that bolt. I’m now in the process of getting new bolts and maybe bushings so I can tackle it again.

I agree with the above from experience and strongly suggest the Bilstein 5100 adjustable struts....

Spacers are a terrible way to level
I have to disagree it’s an affordable way to level your truck when you don’t have bilstein type money. I’ve had plenty trucks in the past with a leveling kit type spacer and never one issue. I even had one on my Ram 3500 dually which I used as a hauler and never one issue.

I ran top gun customs 2 inch steel spacer on 2002 4x4 2500 for 13 years . I sold it with them still in it. Never one single problem. And I carried an old school steel western contractor plow on it every winter for those 13 years.

The $$ is not horrible.. I paid $190 for a pair of 5100’s versus $60-100 for spacers? The bilsteins tightened up my handling nicely too. I’ve used spacers on YJ’s before with good success too.

There’s plenty of info and videos on spacers vs coilovers. The reason spacers are not desirable is that by adding the spacer on top you have now changed the length of the coilover itself allowing it to over extend.

Maybe this will help

Alright everyone, soooooo, I had a friend who had a 2011 ram but he didn't use some leveling struts (also from rough country), so I made a deal with him (since he owes me hehehe), and now I have some 2.5" Rough Country STRUTS that will level the truck. I think I will install these :)
