guys, I thought I tapped all the wires accordingly. from the pigtail of the schoshe harness to the JVC harness. radio will not turn on. I saw that there is a wire on factory harness that is beside the yellow power. on JVC harness that is blue. maybe that is to connect to a red power for ignition? I did not connect the red wire up because there was no red one from the dodge harness. I'm thinking maybe its the blue one.

anybody who changed their radios out on the 2012 that can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Black grounds matched, speaker wires matched up. the yellow constant lined up, so I'm guessing the red ignition wire was the issue. maybe I can tap the red from the JVC harness and run that to a 12v source like a power outlet.

thanks
Chris

What wiring harness do you have? If it's just the basic one (not a one with a little black box) you'll have to tap into a 12v power source

I did get the one with the black box, but the extra pigtails do nothing unless you have the nav. I realized on a wiring diagram that there is no red ignition switchttp://www.modifiedlife.com/2009-dodge-ram-1500-car-stereo-installation-diagram/h. so I guess I'm cutting into a 12v source to make it work.

if you read this, there is no ignition switch. just the yellow power. they should tell you this. I taped the harness all up, now I need to pull it apart and get the red wire out of the jvc harness and tap a source! thanks chris

You shouldn't have to tap into a 12v power source with that one. Can you post a pic of your harness? Maybe I can see if there is a problem.
The blue wire is a remote amp power

You don't ever have to tap a separate source if you have the canbus harness. Make sure you have the correct harness or at least fuse that 12volt source you tapped into.
